Terminus Easy Installer Script

For those of you that may not be familiar with the 'Nix command line, I’ve created an easy Terminus installer script. It’s written in PHP, and simply:

  1. Downloads the latest Terminus phar from Gtihub to tmp,
  2. Moves it to /usr/local/bin, prompting for sudo if required.
  3. Checks that the install directory is in $PATH. If not, it updates path and amends the first common shell conf file it finds.

The purpose for step 3 is to make it easy for advanced users who want to use this script to standardize Terminus installations across their team, and may choose a non-standard path. For those folks, the installation path and conf files to edit are all easily editable at the top of the script.

Please take a look, and let me know if you have any feedback. Is this helpful to you? What should I do to improve it?

Disclaimer: I’m not a dev. I wrote this because if Terminus is going to be someone’s first CLI tool on their path to becoming a Command Line Ninja, I don’t want them to get stuck at the start line.
