During conversation in the community slack today, @Jared suggested that it would be helpful to have a way to ban bot IPs at the CDN level.
Thanks - in analyzing traffic for our non-profit clients we’ve identified a lot of bot traffic outside the bots we want to spider the site (google, etc.). While these bots are not necessarily malicious they are often marketing bots that drive up the traffic that our clients pay for with no benefit to the client. If Pantheon is going to charge for this traffic we need a way to block it - as most of these bots do not identify by user-agent we need to analyze IPs and frequency of visits by IP.
We wanted to create a contrib module for this for Drupal - but cannot since this has to be done at the CDN level.
